River & Woodland Experience

Practice new skills along the riverbank and surrounding woodlands, teeming with birdlife, wildflowers, and native trees.  Tutor guided compositions and use of natural light.  Create silhouettes and work with reflections.

After a  Picnic lunch by the ornamental lake in Castle park.  Take shots of  Ziggy the border collie as she dives and jumps with spectacular effect. On to the ornate gardens of Kilkenny Castle and Butler House for the portraits, the group shots and the selfies. 

All our programmes begin and end with an hour long session held in the city central, Langtons Hotel.  Here you will be guided on how your camera phone works and key principles on composition. After you return from your photography trip you will be work shopping your images, learning to how to edit, use filters and special effects as well as guidance on printing your ideal images in the size you want.

Each experience requires a minimum number of participants. If this isn’t met, Helen will contact you directly to suggest a new date.

Please Note: In the event of very poor weather, this experience will be replaced with our Rainy Day Cultural Experience, ensuring you still enjoy a creative and immersive day in Kilkenny. Your booking will automatically transfer, and Helen will be in touch to confirm that this alternative suits you — or to offer the option of rescheduling for another day that better suits your needs.
